WHEREAS, our Labor Movement has a rich history which mirrors the progress of our society and marks the improvement in conditions of work, pay and social progress; and
The contributions of the Labor Movement in the Commonwealth to assist the struggling working men and women in this nation is unparalleled; and
The appreciation of the contributions of Labor fortifies our future and helps to guarantee an enduring legacy; and
Current efforts in Labor Education in our primary and secondary schools is minimal;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, Area Labor Federations, Central Labor Councils, and affiliates shall encourage the development of Labor History Programs in the primary and secondary schools by donating materials, providing speakers and assisting in the planning of Labor History courses.
