The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Applauds The State House Of Representatives For Sending The Pension Legislation To The State House Human Services Committee And To Have Stakeholders Input Into addressing The Pension Issue

Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale and Secretary-Treasurer Frank Snyder offered the following comments on action taken today on Pensions by the State House of Representatives:

Said Bloomingdale, “The Pennsylvania House of Representatives took the fiscally responsible position by sending the pension bill to the State House Human Services Committee for review. The pension legislation has no fiscal impact on the state budget. We applaud the House Democrats and the 15 House Republicans who voted to commit the bill to the committee for further study and review,” Bloomingdale said.

“This approach provides the opportunity for comprehensive study and input by all stakeholders. Let’s go to work in addressing this issue in a manner that doesn’t pit young workers against our grandparents,” said Snyder.
