Day 22 Of GOTV Campaign

The scariest thing this Halloween is Tom Corbett’s promise to “finish the job” if he gets re-elected, but as we continue to Get Out The Vote, we are making that nightmare less likely.

Nonetheless, we still need as many people as possible to vote because if turnout is high, the right candidates will win. Every vote truly does count.

Our GOTV RV tour started at the Mack Truck Macungie Plant for some leafleting.

From there, we joined sisters and brothers from a variety of different unions at UAW Local 677 in Allentown for a Tom Wolf rally, which we kicked off with a cookout.

Thank you to everyone who came out including Bob and Valerie Butterworth of NATCA, Mike Sveda of AFSCME District Council 88, Jim Irwin of AFSCME, Jim Schlener of AFSCME, SEIU COPE Program Lead Organizer Tonya Morrow, Regional Field Director for the Tom Wolf campaign Bar Johnston, the Pennsylvania and New Jersey CAP Director of the United Auto Workers Lauren Farrell and Miguel Pagan of IBEW 1245, along with countless others who showed a ton of support and enthusiasm.

Also, thank you to our endorsed candidates for Pennsylvania State House who came to the event including Peter Schweyer of District 22, Mike Beyer of District 131, Mike Schlossberg of District 132, Daniel McNeill of District 133 and Steve Samuelson of District 135.

Check out some of the photos from that event – none of which were Photoshopped.

After that, the RV headed straight to Teamsters Local 773, Hospital Central Services for more leafleting. A big thank you to Darrin Fry and Dave Sukanick of 773 for their support and bilingual skills.

We then moved on to leaflet to people hit hard by Corbett’s extreme cuts to education, teachers at South Mountain Middle School in Allentown and members of Allentown Education Association (AEA) and PSEA. Thank you to AEA President Debbie Tritter and Frank Nickischer of PSEA for joining us.

If you are reading this then you are probably already going to vote, so the key is to get your friends, family and neighbors to vote, and give them a ride to the polls or a reminder to vote that day if they need it.
