U.S. House Leadership Revives Fast Track That Strips Workers’ And Human Rights

House Leadership And Speaker Boehner Made What Was A Bad Trade Bill Even Worse.

Blog_VOTEDAGAINSTWORKERSOur thanks and appreciation to all of you in Taking Action in our effort to defeat the latest maneuver by the U.S. House leadership and House Speaker John Boehner to revive TPA from the dead. Unfortunately they succeeded by the slimmest of margins 218 to 210 and now the fight goes back to the Senate. Below is the roll call on the vote. Thank your representative if he or she voted to protect our jobs and communities from another bad trade deal. Express your disappointment if your representative voted to send our jobs out of the country.

This fight is not over; we still have a chance to defeat the revived bill, which is much worse. They removed the TAA trade adjustment assistance for workers and prohibitions against slave labor and human trafficking, protection against currency manipulation and environmental protections.

Thank you for your outstanding efforts in opposing bad trade deals that kill jobs and lower wages and be ready to TAKE ACTION as this battle goes back to the U.S. Senate.
