All Three AFL-CIO Endorsed State House Candidates Win Their Special Elections

Neilson, McClinton, BullockPennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale and Secretary-Treasurer Frank Snyder congratulate all three of our AFL-CIO endorsed candidates: Ed Neilson in the 174th State House District; Joanna McClinton in the 191st State House District and Donna Bullock in the 195th State House; on their victories in the Special Elections held on Tuesday August 11.

President Bloomingdale and Secretary-Treasurer Snyder also express their thanks and appreciation to all of the unions and the volunteers who carried out the member to member campaign in these three races and to Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO President Patrick Eiding and his staff on their support and leadership in helping coordinate and support the efforts of the volunteers.

In congratulating all three of our candidates President Bloomingdale said, “ we are looking forward to working with them in supporting good public policies that bring good jobs, decent wages, and benefits to the people they represent and to all Pennsylvanians. All three candidates campaigned on issues important to expanding our middle class and the values we all share.”

Secretary-Treasurer Snyder described the victories as a “trifecta” that we can all celebrate as our three newly elected State House members join in the push to move our state forward. Snyder also noted the victory of one of our own – Ed Neilson in the 174th, who is a member of IBEW Local 98. We need to recruit and support even more of our own to run for public office to ensure the voice and insights of working families and organized labor is heard and understood in both the caucuses of our Legislature.
