Hundreds of PA UC Call Center Workers Furloughed Week Before Christmas

Huddle 1 copyYesterday, more than 500 workers from Pennsylvania’s UC call centers were furloughed from their jobs.  Monday evening, President Rick Bloomingdale and Secretary-Treasurer Frank Snyder gathered with some of the furloughed workers, SEIU Local 668 President Tom Herman, Business Manager of Boilermakers Local 13 Martin Williams, and York County NAACP President Sandra Thompson who spoke, along with representatives of the York-Adams CLC and other partner unions, to voice their Solidarity and support for the workers who received this terrible blow, so close to the holiday.

The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO will stand with our brothers and sisters in this time of need.  These unnecessary political games have hurt Pennsylvania families during what should be a happy and merry season.  As we spend time with our families over the coming weeks, we will keep those who have received this awful news in our thoughts.
