Representatives from more than 40 unions gathered in Hershey, Pennsylvania, last week to discuss strategies for maximizing union member engagement with UnionPlus benefits. Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale greeted the liaisons and was joined by Diane Carroll, secretary/treasurer of Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers (BCTGM) Local 464. Attendees discussed how unions can strengthen their relationships with members by utilizing valuable Union Plus benefits such as free college, mortgages, and scholarships.
Union Plus is a nonprofit organization founded by the AFL-CIO in 1986 to provide excellent consumer Union Plus benefit programs exclusively to union members (current and retired) and their families.
Union Plus was founded to improve the quality of life for working families through unique products and services, from credit services to travel and entertainment discounts. Through good and bad times, solidarity with fellow brothers and sisters keeps our unions strong, and organizations like Union Plus help us do that by offering financial assistance, including strike benefits, to support union members and their families.
