2019 Scholarship Essay Contest Winners Announced!

Each year, the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO offers higher education scholarships to union members and their families. This contest is supported by the State Federation, and funding is provided by union affiliates. The goal is to promote student awareness of the Labor Movement’s vital contributions to this nation’s economic, social, and political fabric.

There are two categories within the Essay Contest – one for Graduating High School Seniors, and the other for Post-Secondary Students. Each essay topic is tied to the importance of Organized Labor in the United States.
