Unions to Throw Holiday Party for Striking Families at Langeloth

The holiday season is in full swing! Are you aware, 89 members of UAW 1311 have been on strike at the Langeloth Metallurgical in Langeloth, PA in Washington County since September 9. This season is about a lot more than gifts and cookies and too much food; it’s a time to show our solidarity with one another through service. We ask that you keep all of our union sisters and brothers on the picket line, in Langeloth and across the Commonwealth, in your thoughts. Show your support on social media, or donate.

Workers could use firewood to keep warm in the cold while serving picket duty. Stop by the picket line in Solidarity to energize and support them for another day, and during this Holiday Season.

Unions and the Northwest PA Area Labor Federation are holding a holiday party for the families at the Knights of Columbus in Burgettstown on Tuesday, December 24th from 11 AM to 1 PM. There’s even a rumor Santa himself may stop by. If you are interested in donating please email nwpaalf@gmail.com.

If you’re interested in donating gifts for the children and gift cards to purchase those extras we all enjoy during this time of year. 28 families have minor children with a total of 43 children. Our goals are to get gifts for the children and if we can raise enough we would like to get Gift Cards to Giant Eagle for each family to shop and buy what they choose for Christmas Dinner. Please help make Christmas better for these families.\
