Tuesday, March 17 marks not only St. Patrick’s Day, but also TWO special elections for Pennsylvania’s State House. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has endorsed two union members for next week’s special elections in Bucks and Westmoreland Counties. Pennsylvania needs more representatives of working people in Harrisburg, and we can only do that by turning out to vote.
In House District 18, Harold Hayes is a master plumber and a 22-year union member with UA Local 690. Harold will be more than a friend of organized labor; he will be a champion for organized labor, and help to advance an agenda in Harrisburg that invests in education and infrastructure, protects union jobs, makes it easier to join a union, and makes workplaces safer for all workers.
On the other side of the state, our endorsed candidate in House District 58, Robert Prah, Jr. is a Major in the US Army Reserves, a firefighter, a former Mayor, and a card-carrying union member with PSEA as the Director of Military and Veterans Affairs at California University of Pennsylvania, and a former member of UFCW Local 23.
