No New NAFTA 2.0 Till It’s Fixed!

On Thursday, August 1st, Vice President Mike Pence visited Pennsylvania to promote the USMCA trade proposal, i.e. NAFTA 2.), at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and The Manitowoc Company.  The USMCA is no better than NAFTA and has many of the very same flaws.  This trade deal DOES NOT protect workers, in the US, Canada or Mexico.  In May, Pennsylvania’s State Legislature voted on a House Resolution 248, calling on Congress to ratify the USMCA.  Read More

National President Richard Trumka To Kick Off Trade Tour in Pittsburgh

National AFL-CIO President will be holding a Town Hall on NAFTA 2.0 on June 17th, 2019 at 6PM at the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. The White House has again attempted to prematurely advance its flawed and incomplete new NAFTA agreement. As it stands, the administration’s United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) still falls short of a fair deal for working people: The proposal doesn’t end the outsourcing of good-paying American jobs to Mexico and other low-wage countries.
