The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Education Committee is accepting completed applications for 2008 Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Scholarships. For the ninth year, it is the pleasure of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO to offer our Scholarship Essay Contest to help contestants conduct research about the many contributions that the Labor Movement has made to American society. Please share this information with all interested, eligible students.

ELIGIBILITY: Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Scholarships are available exclusively for PA AFL-CIO Affiliated Union Members and their families.

| Complete the application form and mail it to the PA AFL-CIO no later than January 31, 2008 – (You can either download, print, complete and submit the application form that appears below or call or email the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO to have an application form sent to you.); | |
| Write an essay about the topic listed for your category (topics appear below; essays must be a minimum of one thousand five hundred [1,500] words); | |
| List three references and include their names, addresses and titles (at least one reference must be someone from a Labor organization); | |
| Make sure your essay is neatly prepared, double-spaced and typed on regular white paper and a 1/2 Floppy or CD; and, | |
| Mail all of the items listed above to the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO. |
