Workers, Labor Leaders to Ask the President: Show Us the Jobs!

On the eve of the President’s Visit, Labor Leaders and Unemployed Worker Express Enthusiasm and Hope Over Kerry/Edwards Platform to Bring Jobs Back to America

Pittsburgh, PA – Members of the Allegheny Labor Council and several unemployed workers will hold a press Conference at the Pittsburgh Convention Center, Friday, July 30, 2004, the day before President Bush’s visit, to send a message to the President to bring good jobs and affordable health care to the working families of Western Pennsylvania.

Jim Klingensmith, Executive Vice President of the Allegheny Labor Council will join scores of unemployed workers who lost their jobs due to outsourcing and unfair trade deals.  Working families are energized and excited in support of Senator John Kerry and his running mate Senator John Edwards who are committed to fighting for good jobs, affordable health care, and fair trade for working families.  The Press Conference will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Convention Center at Ninth Street and Duquesne Way.
