Bob Casey Jr., Chris Carney join Labor Leaders on Plant Tour in Williamsport
One week before the election, Casey and Carney join PA AFL-CIO in Massive GOTV Effort
Thursday, November 2nd, Bob Casey Jr. and Chris Carney will join Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Bill George and Secretary Treasurer Rick Bloomingdale on a local plant tour to highlight the contributions of union volunteers in the 2006 election. They will join UAW union volunteers and members to talk about the stakes of this year’s election for working families.
The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Bus Tour seeks to rally working families for candidates who stand for our priorities. Highlights include worksite leaflets with Lois Murphy and Joe Sestak, a plant tour with Bob Casey, Jr., and Chris Carney, and a rally with John Edwards, Ed Rendell, and Bob Casey, Jr.
The Pennsylvania Labor 2006 program mobilizes union members at their workplaces and communities. Worksite leafleting is a core part of the AFL-CIO union member mobilization program, which seeks to educate and mobilize Pennsylvania’s 1.4 million union members. More than two million voter education leaflets have been handed out at worksites across Pennsylvania since June 1st.
