Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Election Bus Tour to Highlight Key GOTV Areas
Candidates join labor leaders in massive GOTV effort
This Wednesday through Saturday, candidates will join labor leaders across the state of Pennsylvania in a bus tour that will highlight Election Day priorities for Pennsylvania working families.
Candidates Bob Casey Jr., Lois Murphy, Joe Sestak, Chris Carney, and Charles Dertinger will join Bill George, President of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and Rick Bloomingdale, Secretary Treasurer of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, in participating in key parts of the Pennsylvania Labor 2006 program, the largest GOTV effort in Pennsylvania.
The Bus Tour will rally working families for candidates who stand for our priorities. Highlights include a worksite leaflet with Lois Murphy, a plant tour with Bob Casey, Jr., and Chris Carney, a rally with John Edwards, Ed Rendell, and Bob Casey, Jr. and a labor walk with the President of the national AFL-CIO John Sweeney.
The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO will mobilize 1.4 union members, families, and Working America members. Since August, union volunteers knocked on 185,000 doors, made 295,000 live calls, and handed out more than 2 million leaflets at worksites. This past Saturday, 900 union volunteers walked across the state of Pennsylvania in the GOTV kick-off weekend.
