Resolution No. 17

PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENTS

WHEREAS, Project Labor Agreements, used primarily by the Building Trades, have proven to be a win for employers, win for workers and win for the public; and

Project Labor Agreements have proven to reduce costs, improve quality and exceed expected completion dates; and

Project Labor Agreements first started with the “Big Hole” project in the City of Boston and other Massachusetts projects consistently minimizing costs, improving productivity and improving quality; and

Representative Leh (R-Montgomery) has introduced legislation that would prohibit Project Labor Agreements.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, and it’s affiliates, oppose any limitation on Project Labor Agreements.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, and it’s affiliates, strongly advocate the use of Project Labor Agreements.
