Resolution No. 33

UNION EDUCATION PROGRAMS

            WHEREAS, Training and education programs are essential to developing skills and talents and meeting the needs of union leaders, potential leaders and the members they represent; and

            In a vastly complicated world, there is an increased need to provide training to prepare union members for the challenges of building a stronger Labor Movement through organizing new members, effectively representing the present members, and achieving broader social goals through expanded equal opportunity and economic progress.

            THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO continue to develop and improve union education programs to promote and initiate membership activity in Labor’s programs and activities.

            THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That union education continues to be expanded to provide necessary outreach to union members to encourage participation in the activities and programs of Labor.

            THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That union education continue to be expanded and improved to provide all union members with the greatest possible opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars and conferences on Labor’s programs and issues.
