Jennifer O’Mara comes from a union family.   Born in Southwest Philadelphia to a union firefighter and a stay-at-home mom, Jenn’s father died when she was 13 by gun suicide. Their family moved to Prospect Park where her mother found a job as a union bus driver and, thanks to her father’s union pension and important public services, Jenn’s family stayed afloat.  Read More

The House Labor & Industry Committee passed five anti-worker bills out of committee on Monday, September 24th.   This week, the PA House voted to turn Monday, October 1 into a voting session of the House.  This means another opportunity for extremists to try to ramrod legislation that strips rights from local governance and harms workers’ rights to organize and join unions.
