On a chilly day in northwestern Pennsylvania, the RV arrived at Clarion University to heat things up, including some burgers and hot dogs for Burgers And Ballots.
We got a lot of students who were going to be at school and away from home on November 4 to fill out absentee ballot applications so their voices can still be heard. Check out some photos below of Clarion students on why they are voting.
Speaking of making their voices heard, we had some great speakers today including Student Trustee for CU’s Council of Trustees Darren Young, Student Member of the Board of Governors Todd Garrett, political science professor and APSCUF member Kevan Yenerall, political science professor and APSCUF member Thomas Rourke and Central PA ALF Director and Clarion alum Zach Hause.
We also have to send a big thanks to our union sisters and brothers from AFSCME and APSCUF for being such an instrumental part of today’s successful event. Thank you to AFSCME District Council 85 Director David Henderson, AFSCME District Council 85 Staff Representatives Robin Calabria, Julie Barnett, Shane Clark and Randy Wilson, as well as AFSCME Council Representative Zollie Rayner and AFSCME members Carissa Stearns, Bryan Shreckengost, Diane Whitton, and Ed Scurry. Thank you to APSCUF CU Chapter President Beth MacDaniel for all her help as well as APSCUF members Thomas Rourke, Kevan Yenerall, Jim MacCaferri, and Andy Lingwall. We also want to send a big thanks to retired NALC member Roger Jenkins.
