Day 14 Of GOTV Campaign

Similarly to our union brother, retired National Association of Letter Carriers member Roger Jenkins who was with us at Burgers And Ballots at Slippery Rock University today, we go on rain or shine. As it turns out, we got rain today.

Luckily, our event took place in a pavilion in the middle of Slippery Rock’s campus, and we had a great turnout of union members and students who came to get some free food as well as fill out absentee ballot applications and express why they are voting on November 4. Check out some photos below of Slippery Rock University faculty, staff and students on why they are voting.

A special thanks to all of our speakers including Itzy Meztly of APSCUF, President of Student Government Association at SRU Katie Hill, Grace Hajave of OPEIU, Justin Kleemook of SCUPA, Carolyn Steglich of APSCUF and President of AFSCME Local 819, SRU, Tom Watson.

Also thanks to all our union sisters and brothers for their help with and support of the event including Itzy Meztly of APSCUF, retired NALC member Roger Jenkins, AFSCME District Council 85 Director David Henderson, AFSCME Council Representative Zollie Rayner, AFSCME District Council 84 Director Richard Caponi, AFSCME District Council 85 Staff Representatives Robin Calabria, Julie Barnett, Shane Clark, Randy Wilson and Debbie Currie, along with AFSCME District Council 84 Staff Representatives Dave Haslett, Greg Stiger and John Galuska.

Burgers And Ballots comes to Edinboro University tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22 at noon until 2 p.m. in front of the Pogue Student Center. We will be at California University on Thursday, October 23 at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. outside of the Student Union Building.

Check out all the photos from Burger And Ballots at Slippery Rock below.

Besides Burgers And Ballots, the GOTV Campaign hit Human Services Center in New Castle, Pa. and the Polk Center in Polk, Pa. to hand out leaflets to their unionized staffs to let them know that Tom Wolf is the best choice for governor for working Pennsylvanians. Here are a a few photos from those events below.
