The United States Senate will vote this week on the VA Mission Act (S. 2372), a bill designed to dismantle and privatize the VA. Help our AFGE brothers and sisters protect healthcare and treatment for our nation’s veterans. This is our last chance – it is up to us to protect veteran care and stand up for a publicly-funded VA.
We need you to call your Senators. First, call Senator Pat Toomey at (202) 224-4254 for his DC office or (717) 782-3951 for his Harrisburg office.
You can use the script below when you call their office:
My name is NAME, and I live in (YOUR CITY AND STATE). I’m calling today, in my personal capacity as a constituent, to ask you to vote NO on S. 2372, the VA Mission Act. Every dollar spent on privatized care deprives our veterans of the specialized care we offer in our VA – specialized care that saves their lives and helps veterans heal more effectively. This bill will also create a BRAC commission leading to the closure of some VA facilities.
End your call by asking your Senator to vote NO on the VA Mission Act (S. 2372) when it comes to the Senate floor.
Please pick up the phone and call now.
