PA-AFL CIO Announces Days of Action Campaign in Honor of Richard Trumka

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka (1949-2021) In honor of the life and legacy of the late AFL-CIO President and Pennsylvania native Richard L. Trumka, the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO is organizing a Richard L. Labor in Action: Community Services Across the Mid-State

The Blair/Bedford Central Labor Council, Lancaster Central Labor Council, and AFSCME DC 90 organized three community service projects that made a difference in their communities.  The Altoona Mirror recognized the Blair/Bedford CLC for its work around Hunger. In 2020 and 2021, the Blair Bedford CLC raised $15,000 for local food pantries. Read More

Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Executive Council Issues Endorsements in General Election

(HARRISBURG) The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Executive Council’s officers and vice presidents, representing more than 700,000 working people across the Commonwealth, issued endorsements for Pennsylvania’s general election.  Endorsed candidates must receive a two-thirds supermajority vote of the Council.  The following appellate court and special election candidates received the Council’s support. Harrisburg CLC hosts Diaper Drive to Address Community Need

On Saturday September 11th The Harrisburg Central Labor Council in conjunction with the Harrisburg Diaper bank and several other non-profits participated in a diaper drive. Diapers are often an overlooked necessity, and it showed in the amount families that came out.
